After installing and configuring Watchlyst – Price Alerts, it's a good idea to test the app to ensure everything is working correctly.
Follow the steps below to verify that customers can subscribe to price alerts and receive email notifications when a product's price drops.
🚀 Step 1: Choose a Product
Select a product from your Shopify store that you can use for testing.
- 🛍️ For single-variant products, choose any product.
- 🎨 For multi-variant products, choose a product with a variant whose price you can temporarily reduce.
👀 Step 2: Subscribe to a Price Alert
Open the selected product page on your storefront.
You should see the Watch Price button displayed on the page.
- Click the Watch Price button.
- Enter:
- 📧 Your email address
- 💷 Your desired target price
- Click Set Alert.
Your price alert subscription has now been created..
📊 Step 3: Verify the Subscription
Return to the Watchlyst Dashboard and navigate to:
Dashboard → Stats → Overview
Here you can monitor key metrics, including:
- 📩 Total price alerts subscribed
- 📧 Email addresses captured
- 🔔 Notifications sent
- 🔄 Returning visitors

💲 Step 4: Reduce the Product Price
From your Shopify Admin, lower the product price to meet or fall below the target price you entered during the subscription.
📧 Step 5: Wait for the Notification Email
Watchlyst automatically checks product prices every 4 hours (6 times per day).
After the price drops:
- ⏱️ The notification email may be delivered anywhere between a few minutes and up to 4 hours, depending on when the next monitoring cycle runs.
- 📩 The subscriber will receive a price drop notification containing a link back to the product page.

If the Watch Price button does not appear on your product page:
