How does it work?

Bolt Bulk Product Editor is a simple-to-use app designed to help you edit product information in bulk - quickly and accurately.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Go to the New Task section and start creating a task.

2. On the Create New Task page, the second step is to select the products you want to edit. You can select more than one condition as well. Click Next.

3. The app will search for the items that match the conditions and provide the count.

4. The next step is to configure the product tag actions. You can add, remove, or rename the tags. You have to select the option from the dropdown.

Add tags you want to update

5. Finally, configure the task to run immediately or to schedule it for a future date. Optionally, schedule the rollback task to revert the changes to the original state. Click 'Save'.

6. The app will execute the task as per the configuration of the product tags. You can monitor the task activity in real time and see the products that were edited with product tags.

Tips

  • Try running a test edit on a single product or category before bulk-editing your entire catalog.
  • Use the rollback feature inside the Bolt App dashboard to safely reverse edits in one click.
  • Schedule major pricing or catalog updates during off-peak hours to avoid shopper confusion.

Important Notes

  • Bolt runs strictly in the background and will never impact storefront loading times or slow down checkout.
  • Bulk edit history is stored for 6 months, and exact product logs are cleaned up after 2 months.

Troubleshooting

Is your bulk task updating too slowly? Shopify restricts API requests (approx. 2 updates per second). Running multiple bulk edits at the same time distributes bandwidth and causes slow execution times. We strongly recommend running tasks sequentially.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cancel or pause an ongoing edit task? Yes. Active tasks can be paused or stopped in real-time directly from the dashboard.

What happens if I uninstall the app? Uninstallation cancels all running or scheduled tasks. Completed edits remain on Shopify but cannot be rolled back via the app once uninstalled.
