The Location-Based Inventory feature allows you to display the available inventory for a product at one or more specific Shopify locations. This is especially useful for merchants managing inventory across multiple warehouses, retail stores, or fulfillment centers.
For example, you can display badges or highlights such as:
- 15 units available in New York Warehouse
- Only 8 left at Mumbai Store
- 25 items available across selected locations
If multiple locations are selected, the app automatically displays the combined inventory from all selected locations.
Note: The
{{InventoryAt}}dynamic data field is available for Gold plan users only.
How to Display Location-Based Inventory
Step 1: Activate Location-Based Inventory
Before using the dynamic data field, you must enable Location-Based Inventory.
- Open the Prime Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Location-Based Inventory Settings page.
- Enable the Location-Based Inventory switch.
Note: After enabling this feature, the app may take 5 minutes to a few hours to perform the initial inventory synchronization. Once the initial sync is complete, inventory updates are reflected within 10 minutes of any stock change.
Step 2: Add the Dynamic Data Field
Create or edit a Badge or Highlight and insert the following dynamic data field:
{{InventoryAt}}
While adding the data field, select the Shopify location(s) whose inventory you want to display.
- Single Location: Displays inventory for that specific location.
- Multiple Locations: Displays the combined inventory across all selected locations.
Sync Inventory for Individual Products
If you notice that the displayed inventory is incorrect for a particular product:
- Open the Location-Based Inventory Settings page.
- Search for the affected product.
- Click Sync.
The app will refresh the inventory for that product.
Display Rules Based on Location Inventory
In addition to displaying inventory, Prime also lets you create Display Rules based on inventory levels at specific locations.
For example, you can:
- Show a badge only when inventory at a warehouse is below 10.
- Display a "Limited Stock" badge for selected fulfillment locations.
- Hide inventory badges when stock reaches zero at a particular location.
This allows you to create highly targeted inventory messaging for different Shopify locations.
Important Notes
- The
{{InventoryAt}}dynamic data field is available for Gold plan users only.- Location-Based Inventory must be enabled in the settings before inventory can be displayed.
