Guide to Avoid Getting Your Amazon Associate Account Banned

Amazon enforces Associates policies strictly. Review these common compliance mistakes to keep your account safe from suspension or bans.

Key Policy Violations to Avoid

  • Links in Emails or Newsletters: Do not include Amazon affiliate links directly inside emails or newsletters. Instead, direct email traffic to your BigCommerce store pages.
  • Links in eBooks/PDFs: Offline documents, PDFs, slides, and eBooks must not contain affiliate tracking links.
  • Out-of-Date Pricing: Displaying static pricing that does not update within 24 hours is a violation. Either use Auto-sync or contact our support team to hide pricing numbers.
  • Un-updated Star Ratings: Do not copy static star rating counts. Ratings must update dynamically.
  • Missing Disclaimers: Ensure a visible affiliate disclaimer is active on your store footer. Refer to our Affiliate Disclosure Guide.
  • Link Shortening: Do not use link cloaking services or third-party URL shorteners to hide destination domains. Spreadr uses fully direct links.
  • Self-Purchasing: You cannot use your own affiliate links to purchase items for personal use, resale, or commercial purposes.
  • No Referral Sales: New accounts must generate at least 3 qualifying sales within 90 days of signup to keep registration active.
